The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe had debunked the news report published by evening Tabloid, PM News alleging that some suspected loyalists of the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe attacked a self acclaimed journalist working with a television outfit, MITV, Habeeb Adejobi.
In a Press statement released and made available to Universal News by the Head, Public Affairs Unit, Kosofe Local Government, Mrs. Maryam Olaide Hamzat. It stated that Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe was a complete gentleman and law abiding who would not give such reckless order for attack on anybody let alone a journalist performing his legitimate duty.
“The Executive Chairman is law abiding and has taken such weighty allegation with utmost concern considering the good reputation and long standing relationship with members of the media by taking their safety and dignity as a matter of great importance”.
The statement read.
” The Local Government is committed to mutual respect and cooperation with members of the press, whose role in promoting transparency and public awareness remains invaluable.
While the circumstances surrounding the reported incident are being carefully reviewed, the administration assures the Public that appropriate steps would be taken to ascertain the facts and justice served”, it added
The statement further said that Kosofe Local Government remains committed to upholding professionalism, accountability, and respect for press freedom.
