The Executive Chairman, Agbado Oke-odo Local Council Development Authority, (LCDA), Mayor Jimoh Abiodun Isola popularly called Ejigbadero has restated his determination to fulfill his electoral pledges, just as he vowed to make accountability and untainted transparency his article of faith.
Mayor Jimoh Isola made these pronouncements at the year 2026 Budget and Procurement Planning Retreat held at the prestigious Abiis Hotels and Suites, Oke ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In the keynote address he presented at the epoch making financial event, the Council’s boss explained that the proposed 2026 budget of Agbado Oke-odo is the first full budget to be conceptualized by his Administration and all the social needs of the people must be incorporated in the final draft.
Ejigbadero demands transparency, accountability from Council Personnel, saying he is ready to deliver his electoral pledges to the People.
He enjoined the top officials of the council in charge of various departments and units to be transparent, dedicated, honest and accountable during the implementation of his administration’s policies.
The Council’s boss said the theme of this year budget is ,” Budget Of Progress and Sustainability,” while the theme of the Procurement Planning is, ” Implementation of Public Procurement Process In Local Government Administration.
Speaking further, Isola expressed his sincere appreciation to the council Vice Chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Shobayo, elected councillors, the Management and staff generally who he said, are the engine room of his administration for their hard work, dedication to duties and co-operation since he assumed office on July 27th, 2025.
He ascribed the modest achievements recorded by his administration in the first 100 days to their unflinching support and hard work.
He urged them not to rest on their oars because of the greater tasks ahead as 2026 approaches, adding that he is ready to serve the people of Agbado Oke-Odo with sincerity and dedication.
The council chairman assured residents of the council that his administration would use the federal government allocations and internally generated revenue (IGR) judiciously to cater for their welfare on road infrastructures, health, education, empowerment, sanitation and security.
Mayor Isola also appealed to all the participants at the retreat to be open minded while treating various aspects of the budget in the best interest of the people.
Earlier in her welcome speech, the Council’s Head of Administration (Council’s Manager), Mrs.Gbemisola Fregene welcomed participants to the retreat.She appealed to them to see the retreat as another opportunity to contribute their own quota to the development of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, adding that they should be ready to be on the same page with the new administration in its efforts to provide more dividends of democracy for the people of Agbado Oke-odo.
Mr Ambali Abiodun Kabiru, a Chartered Accountant delivered the first lecture of the day at the retreat,on the topic “The Imperative of Budget In Managing Local Government Finance and Public Funds”.
He posited that the primary responsibility of any government is to guarantee happiness for the people.He said further that the only way to guarantee happiness for the people is to give them what they want in the area of provision of social amenities.
The second facilitator at the retreat, Mr Emmanuel Olaosebikan discussed the topic “Examing Emerging Issues In the New Local Government Administrative Guidelines 2025
He threw more lights on the topic on the new amendments made in the administrative guidelines as passed by the Lagos State House Of Assembly and urged key officials of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA to be ready to adapt to the guidelines for the benefit of the people.
Guests at first day of the retreat included the Vice Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Lcda, Alhaji Kehinde Shobayo, Chief Of Staff to the council chairman, Mr Abdulrasheed Rabiu, the Deputy Chief Of Staff, Mr Oriade Ademola, the Council Manager, Mrs. Gbemisola Fregene, the council treasurer, Mrs, Abdulsalam Faoziat, all Management staff, chairman of Nigeria Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Comrade Tajudeen Olowolagba and Secretary of the Union, Comrade Fadipe and other Principal Members of Staff.
