The Event Hall of Galaxy Event Centre at Ogudu, Lagos state, the venue for the budget preparatory forum of Kosofe Local Government was filled to capacity as pot pourri of stakeholders across the board from various CDAs, faith-based organisations, youth forums, traditional institution and others gathered to make useful input into the budget preparatory for the coming fiscal year tagged “year 2026 budget preparatory stakeholders’ consultative forum”.
Welcoming the guests and other invited personalities, the Council’s Manager, Mrs.Mosunmola Otaiku-Okoka lauded the Executive Chairman, Hon. Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe for his leadership traits, acumen and relentless pursuit of excellence at Kosofe Local Government. The Council number one civil servant, affirmed that Ogunlewe as the chief pilot of the council has achieved unprecedented goals in ensuring that Kosofe becomes the cynosure of all eyes. Otaiku-Okoka assured the stakeholders of another round of goodies as budget for the coming year would be an all encompassing.
In his keynote address, the Council’s number one citizen, Barrister Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe thanked the good people of Kosofe Local Government for their faith and steady fastness in him. He said the confidence reposed in him would not be in vain as he began the second stanza journey of his purposeful administration.
“This gathering”, he told the Kosofe’s coterie of stakeholders, “is a strategic engagement to demonstrate inclusive governance and opportunity to consolidate our past achievements just as it is an opportunity to learn from our mistakes and challenges”. Speaking further, Ogunlewe charged the stakeholders to make reasonable input to the proposed fiscal plan.
“As stakeholders, your collective input into the budget preparatory plan is very imperative and would be reasonably accommodated”. He added.
Ogunlewe reeled out his achievements in the first term which he said included construction of 42 roads with drainages, sinking of boreholes, distribution of transformers across various estates and wards, renovation of Mosafejo Primary school, assisting of over 5,000 youths to obtain free GCE and JAMB enrolment forms worth 10,000.
He appealed to people generally to pay their necessary rates, taxes and other dues for his Administration to consolidate on these achievements.
In their various goodwill messages, stakeholders and politicians alike paid glowing tribute to the Council’s boss for his unquantifiable achievements.
Mr. Segun Babatunde, the Chairman of Community Development Committee, (CDC), Kosofe branch, said he was the first chairman who left his luxury office to pay visit to all the CDAs and wards in Kosofe history. He is a man of vision who kept his promise to the people who elected him twice, we called him white lion and Mr. project. His infrastructural development is second to none.He made our CDAs lively through provision of transformers he distributed, he had done a lot by putting smiles onto people’s mouths.
CDC chairman appealed to the people to reciprocate the kind gesture by paying their rates and taxes.
In similar vein, the Chairman of APC, Kosofe branch, Alhaji Kehinde Bello thanked all the stakeholders’ for their painstaking input to the proposed budget. He said without mincing words that Ogunlewe wisdom and capability in steering the wheel of Kosofe Local Government is magnificent. He had changed the face of the council since he took over, He urged the members of the party and general public alike to give him maximum support in this second lap of his purposeful administration.
The erstwhile member of local government Service Commission and APC stalwart in Kosofe and Lagos State, Hon. Busayo Adebayo said nobody needs to be told what he had achieved in the council, as it is glaring. I have seen it myself. He said when he returned from foreign trip recently, he was taken aback when he saw the transformation of Adebayo Mokuolu and other streets in mende, Anthony and other places across the council.
Commending the Council chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman, Kosofe branch, Pastor, Olugbenga Ogboro, lauded the Executive Chairman as a visionary man, an achiever par excellence, a reliable man of the people who have done a lot and whose record would be a benchmark for others.
Others who spoke at the gathering gave kudos to the Chairman for his glistening achievements.
The gathering attracted who is who in Kosofe local government as the vice Chairman of the council, Hon.Oluwole Sosanya, Leader of the house, Hon. Femi Oyesile and other legislators. Chief of Staff, Mr. Abiona Akinyemi, Former Secretary to the Council, Hon. Abdulfatai Gbadebo, erstwhile leader, Hon. Idowu Oluloro, Hon Musiliu Aigoro , iyaloja of Kosofe, Madam Abosede Balogun, Chief imam of Kosofe, Alhaji Modiu Oludegun, former APC Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Seidu and Police Area commander, ably represented are in attendance.
