“Your important role as the mouthpiece of the people of Kosofe who elected you and your responsibility for their betterment are key to your office rather than your personal aggrandizement and gains”.
These are the words of admonition from the reelected Chairman of Kosofe Local government Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe to the newly elected and reelected Councillors during the swearing in ceremony of seven successful Councillors who won their legislative election recently.
Speaking ex tempore during the proclamation event, the Council boss thanked the good and ever grateful people of Kosofe for the unalloyed trust in them by overwhelmingly renewing their mandate and faith in their party All Progressive Congress (APC), assuring them of greater performances in their second tenure which would still dwell on construction, maintenance of public infrastructures and community development generally.
The oath of office was administered by the Director of legal unit of the Council, Barrister Solate Modinat Omobolanle on Hon. Femi Oyesile, erstwhile Deputy leader now sworn in as a new leader, others are Hon. Christiana Kuboye, Oworo ward A, elected as Chief whip, Hon. Abayomi Elugbindin, Orile Oworo ward B, Member, Hon. David Oluwagbemiga, Anthony ward D, Member, Hon. Hakeem Oshinjinrin, Mende ward E elected as a deputy leader, while Hon. Sulaimon Baruwa Ojota ward F and Hon. Ibrahim Olalekan Adebare Ogudu ward F were elected member and majority leader respectively.
The oath ceremony also witnessed the first 8th legislative plenary session presided over by the Clerk of the house, Mrs Titilayo Ajayi, where Hon. Oyesile emerged as a leader.
The epoch making event attracted creme de la creme in Kosofe as the Hon Member representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara who congratulated the elected Councillors and gave assurance of economic prosperity and stability under the present Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice Chairman Kosofe Local government, Hon.Oluwole Sosanya, His Royal highness Oba Saliu, the Oloworo of Oworonshoki, APC Chairman of Kosofe local government, Hon. Kehinde Bello and the Head of Administration of Kosofe, Mrs Mosunmola Otaiku-Okoka who gave a welcome address earlier.
