In what appears to be a stern warning to all the aspiring candidates for councillorship positions in the forthcoming local government election in Kosofe Local government, the Executive Chairman of the council, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe has issued a stern warning to all the candidates jostling for the position to desist from using his pictures, other images including materials relating to him for their campaigns, as he has not endorsed anyone nor have anointed candidate.

In a release signed and circulated by his Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Oluwole Obisanya-Labia, the Council’s helmsman called on the aspirants to exercise their electoral rights for the position without involving him to gain any electoral advantage, doing so would have legal consequences.

Ogunlewe denied vehemently endorsement of any councillorship aspirant, claims of the Chairman’s sponsorship or promotion of specific candidates which he termed as categorically misleading, false and outrightly inexactitude .

The Council’s boss reminded the aspirants that contestants must like footballers display their individual’ skills and soap box manouvre to convince the voters without looking for an easy alley of sponsorship, anything must be within the ambit of law.
“They have the constitutional right to contest, but they are strictly prohibited from using the Chairman’s name or image in their campaign materials. The unauthorised use of the Executive Chairman’s pictures to promote individual aspirations must cease forthwith. Any aspirant found contravening this directive will face appropriate legal consequences”, Ogunlewe warned”.
