In its committed and concerted effort to give fillip to education in Kosofe, the Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe has again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to this all important sector as he organized another yearly Spelling Bee competition, 2025 edition for Public Primary and Secondary School.
The competition which features pupils and students from 18 Public Primary Schools and 14 Secondary Schools across the Local Government Area,
showcased the brilliance, confidence, and competitive spirits of the young participants.
The enthusiasm and the intensity displayed by the young participants is an indication that the Barrister. Ogunlewe led administration would leave no pupil behind in his educational pursuit.
Represented by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Akinyemi Abiona who delivered the keynote address. He conveyed the Chairman’s appreciation to all the stakeholders and reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to promoting academic excellence referencing his administration’s achievements in the education sector.
Universal News gathered from the press release made available by the Public Affairs Unit of the Council that the pedagogical contest was declared open by the Head of Education and Library Services, Mr. Adedeji Owolabi, who warmly welcomed teachers, pupils, guests, and the panel of judges.
The Education Secretary Kosofe Local Government Education Authority, (LGEA), Mr. Babatunde Shoneye, in his goodwill message, commended the Executive Chairman for his continuous investment in education across Kosofe, urging all the participating pupils and students to take their studies seriously.
After a rigorous and exciting contest, the winners emerged as follows:
In Primary School Category, Monday Joshua of Muslim Mission Primary School emerged as the overall best. Okon Samuel of Orile Ifako Primary School, ifako, came second, while
Maduike Allwell of Ojota Primary School came third.
In Secondary School Category, Icha Marius-Jireh of Muslim Senior College, emerged as first position,
Musa Nimota also of Muslim Senior College came second, just as
as Felix Goodluck of Ogudu Junior High School came third.
Medals and prizes were presented to all the contestants by the representatives of the Executive Chairman and the Education Secretary. Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, Mr. Abiona congratulated the winners and urged all participants to remain focused on their education.
The winners will go on to represent Kosofe Local Government at the State level of the competition.
