Team Mende has received a deserving congratulations and cash reward from
the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe for its dazzling performances in the year 2024 Kosofe Chairman’s football competition for men which the team won in style.
In his congratulatory message, delivered at the finals graced by the Honourable Minister of Youth Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hon Ayodele Olawande, the chairman commended all three teams for their exceptional performances in the keenly contested tournament.
Ogunlewe encouraged other participating teams to maintain their sporting spirits and continue developing their skills in preparation for the next edition, noting that the Chairman’s Cup aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope youth and sports development agenda, as well as Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES’ Agenda.
The Council’s boss presented N1.750 million giant cheques to the three victorious teams for their efforts. Team Mende carted away N1 Million with a golden trophy, the first runners up, Team Ojota went away with N500,000 while Team Orile-Oworo also got a consolatory cheque of N250,000 for its efforts.
