The Executive Chairman, Kosofe local government Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe has profoundly saluted the resilience of the great people of his local government area for their patriotism and courage. He made this remark during an occasion marking the 64th independence day celebration. In his emotional laden message, Ogunlewe said,
“as we commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to you all. This milestone offers us an opportunity to reflect on our journey as a nation and, more specifically, as a community within Lagos State.
We find ourselves at a critical juncture in our nation’s history. The challenges we face—economic pressures, security concerns, and social inequalities—are substantial. However, it is in times like these that the resilience and ingenuity of Nigerians shine brightest. Here in Kosofe, we have witnessed first-hand the determination of our people to thrive despite adversity.
Our local government has made significant strides in infrastructural development, healthcare provision, and educational support. These achievements are testament to what we can accomplish when we work together with a shared vision. Yet, we acknowledge that there is still much work to be done.
As we celebrate our independence, let us renew our commitment to building a more prosperous and inclusive Kosofe. Our administration pledges to continue implementing people-oriented policies and projects that address the immediate needs of our community while laying the groundwork for sustainable growth.
