The N100 Million Empowerment initiative train powered by Kosofe Local Government Council has cruised to second phase with instant N100,000 cash transfer to 250 Artisans and Tradesmen.
The financial help aimed at supporting them in their various trades and handicraft works was received with joy and unspeakable happiness by various artisans and traders who received instant bank alerts at the Council’s Secretariat, Ojota, Lagos, the venue of the epoch making event.

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Barrister Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, one of the first people to receive credit alert, a young lady who simply identified herself as Modinat from ward D in Anthony said the monetary assistance came at the right time, “my fruit business has been experiencing hiccups for sometimes now as a result of financial challenges, but with this money, l will lift it up again. Moyo Ogunlewe is a Godsent and he will be blessed richly for coming to our aids at this critical time, he will also achieve his heart desire for this timely help” she prayed fervently.

In a similar vein, Mrs. Ego Oredein, another beneficiary from ward E, Mende, Maryland who sells drinks was grinning from ear to ear as she showered a deluge of praises to Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe for the financial help.
“We really appreciate this monetary help, as a trader, it would help me as my capital outlay to boost the business. God in His infinitive mercy will shower this man with good things of life for the help he is rendering everytime. I have once been his beneficiary as a widow before, lf he’s contesting ten times, l’ll continue to vote for him” Mrs Oredein declared.

Earlier in the welcome address presented by the Head of Administration, (Council’s Manager) Mrs. Mosunmola Otaiku-Okoka, she welcomed various lucky beneficiaries to the second phase of the N100 Million Empowerment Scheme meant for Kosofe’s traders and artisans.
She said the second phase of the empowerment Scheme is a clear demonstration of the Chairman’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu’s “THEME” agenda which emphasizes economic empowerment, inclusive governance, and improve quality of life for all citizens.
“Through this initiative, this administration is not only empowering individuals but also igniting a ripple effect of productivity, innovation, and self-sufficiency across the wards of Kosofe Local Government”. Mrs Otaiku-Okoka said .

She added that the second phase of the scheme was designed specifically for Artisans, Market men and women in order to improve them financially and support their businesses so as to strengthening their ventures and livelihood.

Hon. Mrs. Olayinka Olusanya Lagos East Vice Chairman of APC in her goodwill message, affirmed that the financial assistance isn’t a scam, as she was there last week when the scheme was launched. She said, ”l was here last week when the scheme was launched and l saw a good number of people who got their instant alerts , l am here again to witness another lucky beneficiaries. Just as l said last week, the money isn’t Christmas bonus to be spent recklessly, but a support for individuals’ businesses. She told the lucky beneficiaries to channel the money towards profitable ventures.

CDC Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Babatunde who also advised the phase one beneficiaries to use the money judiciously repeated the same counseling to the beneficiaries of phase two. ” Don’t use this cash for the remembrance of your parents who have passed on more than 20 years ago,
“it is a supportive cash for upgrading your small scale business”‘ Hon. Olusegun Babatunde lectured.

The erstwhile member of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Busayo Adebayo who was also present at the launch of the first phase, enjoined the beneficiaries to thank Barrister Ogunlewe for remembering everybody in Kosofe. He had etched his name in gold for his sterling performances which is visible to everyone to see. He called on the traders and artisans to reciprocate the gesture by continuing voting massively for APC.

The leader of the legislature, Hon. Olufemi Oyesile said with the performances of the Chairman so far, all the councilors have no choice but to support him all through to succeed. He said he was particularly elated because the cash transfer to all wards got to his subjects and this according to him, is a boost for the councilors

In his keynote address, the Executive Chairman, Barrister Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe who was unavoidably absent from this second phase of the scheme was ably represented by the immediate past Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Abdulfatai Gbadebo.
Ogunlewe quoted American revolutionary philosopher, Benjamin Franklin to buttress his financial programme,
“an investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. He was tacitly referring to the 250 traders and skilled artisans who gathered at the event to be financially empowered from the N100 Million Empowerment initiative.
” Last Monday’s successful first phase distribution of N25 Million to general public demonstrated our Administration’s commitment to inclusive empowerment. Today, we specifically target those whose hands create values, our electricians, plumbers, carpenters, tailors, welders, mechanics and other numerous skilled professionals who form the productive engine of Kosofe’s economy” he said. Speaking further, Ogunlewe explains, ” to our beneficiaries, this financial support should catalyse business expansion, upgrade your skills and employ hired hands as apprentices. You’re not merely recipients , you’re economic multipliers whose success creates employment and prosperity for others”.
The Council boss reiterated that the next catchment group are the vulnerable widows before ending the financial empowerment with the youths.

In his closing remark and vote of thanks, Council’s Chief of staff, Hon. Akinyemi Abiona thanked all the invited guests, beneficiaries and the management staff for their infinite patience. He specifically lauded the Executive Chairman for his visionary leadership, commitment and financial empowerment of the people of Kosofe.
